The lobby and dining room feature white woodwork, color bands, chrome fixtures, new furniture, and indirect lighting. The dining room seats 650 to 1, people with 15 tables, while the kitchen gains two white enamel gas ranges and modern equipment. A formal reception will be held for public view.

New Factory Opens in Henry WPA Plant for Pit Privies
A new WPA sanitary pit privy factory opened Tuesday in Henry employing ten men. George Robertson of Wenona heads the operation in the old Duke building on Main Street. The plant will produce concrete bases and forms for Marshall County homes and county projects including four eight-unit buildings for the Marshall Putnam Fairgrounds and units for a Henry municipal parking lot. Materials cost about 30 to 82 dollars per unit, with owners supplying materials and WPA handling erection, digging, and transport. John Kraus operates as time keeper. a Magnolia project in Putnam County is under Ralph Deffenbaugh with ten workers ready to start.

Potter Attends Centennial Plow Industry Celebration
Fred W. Potter attended the Centennial of the Plow Industry at Grand Detour last Friday. His cousin Mrs. Helen Marsh Wood of Milwaukee visited and returned home with him. Mrs. Sarah House, Potter’s maternal aunt and oldest white resident born in Grand Detour, helped mark the event as the homestead was restored to its century old charm. The House family helped launch Grand Detour’s steel plow lineage later merged into a larger company.

Joe Louis May Be Guest At Sparland Club
It was reported this morning that Joe Louis world heavyweight champion will be a guest in the near future at the Whipple Tree, an elaborate private club on the pike at the edge of Sparland owned by Charles Jackson, a prominent Chicago sportsman and politician. Louis was a guest there about two years ago. Last Fall he shot ducks at a club northeast of Henry.

Winners in 4 H Lamb Show at Marshall Putnam Fair
Thirty one lambs were shown at the County Fat Lamb Show held at the Marshall Putnam Fairgrounds. William Edgerley of Granville won first with a 92 pound grade Shropshire lamb. Ron placed second with a 120 pound grade Hampshire. Vincent Cofoid of Hennepin took third, with Harold Morine Jr. and Carl Anderson fourth and fifth. Seven of the top ten were Granville Hennepin 4 H Boosters members. Lambs from Marshall Putnam placed in the district Peoria show with three hundred plus lambs exhibited there. Wayne Gilbert, Stark County farm adviser, judged the county show.

WPA Projects Completed In Henry Open New Pavement
New paving on Edwards Street and at the foot of Edward Street in Henry opened to traffic under J E Raffensperger state highway engineer. WPA crews under Joe Merdian and Clifford Merdian did the work mostly by hand with local materials. Future plans include parking lot expansion on Edward Street and new entrance signs declaring Henry Best Town in Hins? by a Dam Site with signs at city entrances.

A delegation from the Bureau County Boat Club of Princeton will travel Sunday to Henry for Illinois River boat races. They arrive by outboard motor boats from Lock 2 on the Hennepin Canal near Wyanet and race to Henry. Participants include Dr Wright Hedenschoug Arnold Walters Clarence Anderson Ray Erickson and Otto Bouxsein who built a Ford V eight powered craft capable of fifty miles per hour.
