Magnol ia car thief returns baby after frightening moment
Francis R. Hollihan of Peoria attempted to steal a Ford sedan belonging to William Patridge in Magnolia. He discovered a sleeping infant in the back seat and, shocked by the child’s presence, returned the car unharmed. Hollihan, 23, said he had a wife and baby in Peoria and was an agent for a brush company. He is to be held for county court on July 12 on a misdemeanor charge.

Rehn's 34 Years Planting Corn With Rare Replants
J E Rehn of Magnolia has not replanted corn in 34 years except once when a patch drowned. He selects seed by hand and shells it by hand, planting Yellow Dent since many years and never using machine shelled corn. He follows weather over lunar cycles, planting in April or June, with his best yield at 140 acres averaging 72 bushels per acre. He farms with his two sons on the Andrew Mills farm near Quaker Lane across from Fred Glovers.

New Jerusalem Church Dissolved After 67 Years
After 67 years of active existence the New Jerusalem Church on Main street dissolves membership and will revert holdings to the Chicago branch. The society, founded 1857 and dedicated in 1866, had 80 members at its peak. last pastor Rev. L. G. Landenberger died returning from Europe last June.

Sunday noon an old stove exploded at Leo Ely's home on Main Street. The room was badly scorched and Mrs. Ely suffered burns while fighting the fire. Firefighters arrived after the blaze had already been put out by a garden hose.

Infant Dorff dies after illness in Dixon home
Horace Eugene Dorff infant son of Mr and Mrs Horace Dorff of Dixon formerly of this city died Tuesday afternoon at his grandparents home from pneumonia after bronchial trouble measles and whooping cough. He was born March 25 1925 and lived only a year. services were held at the Christian church with Rev W J Co and burial in Henry cemetery. He is survived by his parents and relatives.

50th Anniversary Commemoration of Declaration of Independence
A large crowd attended a patriotic ceremony marking the 50th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
