Clark six, Fulks four, Steele two helped Henry with wins elsewhere Granville over Varna 22 to 12 and Swaney 25 to 11 over Magnolia. A large Henry faction plans to attend tonight’s game at Lostant.

Officers were reelected for 1938 and a strong financial showing from the 1937 Fair was reported with over two thousand dollars in profit after improvements were funded. Henry Service Station Robbed on Route 29
A robber entered Henry service station operated by Paul Barry on Route 29 at seven o seven pm and demanded cash from attendant Uriah Umphrey and visitor Taylor Smith Sr. Eleven dollars were taken, the bandit fled north toward a waiting car, and Sheriff Scott Osborne investigated with no arrests.

Car Damaged In McNabb Accident
A Chevrolet agedan owned by Charles Nelson of McNabb sustained severe front-end damage after losing the road in dense fog and plunging into a ditch about two and a half miles east of McNabb. The windshield was shattered. A large truck-hailing tire from Streator also crashed into a gulley at the Magnolia hard road intersection Sunday night, causing extensive damage. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Deisher of Peoria visited relatives in Henry Sunday.

Denver show drives big feeder cattle sale prices at peak
The grand champion load from the Denver stock show was bought by Robert Kelley of Saratoga Township for 12.50 per hundredweight. William Downey of Senachwine Township purchased 60 head of Hereford cattle, with both buyers reporting strong sentiment for the five stock feeding business. The Denver sale totaled over two million dollars with 94 carloads sold in a few hours and attendance reaching a record 140,600.

Sparland School Band will perform the first concert of the year in the high school gym on Wednesday. The program includes an instrumental trio and a fundraising sale to buy band uniforms. Word reached relatives in Henry of the death of James W. Orr at his Piedmont California residence on January 21. He was 88, son of N W Orr a Henry merchant, and a brother of Mrs Anna Humphrey. Orr moved to California as a young man and resided there ever since. He visited Henry about two years ago.

Record Flood Drenches Henry Area and Bureau County
A Sunday night deluge and rapid river rise flood Henry and Putnam Counties, with three to four inches of rain and the Illinois River up eight feet in 24 hours. Roads blocked by ice and water, farms under water, and crews battled ice flows on Route 29 near Senachwine Creek. Local officials and volunteers aided motorists and protected livestock as floodwaters spread across Bureau and Henry counties.
