Eagles Sighted Along River Near Hall's Landing
Ron Shurts aboard the Suzie reports 16 eagles seen on a four mile river stretch near Hall's Landing on January 17. Two eagles linger on Willow Island all summer. Seen between Chillicothe and Hennepin year round, younger eagles are light brown and adults three years old plus have white heads. Carrier Marine Service operates the Suzie and recently acquired the Maude.

Car Crash Near Henry Injures Sparland Man
Mike Moore 19 of Sparland escaped serious injuries when his 1968 Chevrolet rolled over two and half miles west of Henry on Western Avenue at 6 30 p m Saturday. He was traveling west when the car skidded off the right side and flipped. Marshall County Deputy Sheriff Dayle Pratt investigated the accident.

Mini Bloodmobile Display in Varna January 31
The Peoria Regional Red Cross Blood Program unveils a 26 foot Mini-bloodmobile. It will be on public display in Varna in front of the Mid Way Cafe January 31 from 1 30 to 4 00 p m. The unit, built by Yellowstone Manufacturing Co Elkhart Ind, seats three donors and includes refrigerated blood storage and canteen areas. Beginning March 1 the trailer will begin regular operation with about four visits weekly, aiming to collect 5000 additional units annually to meet demand across 56 hospitals served by the center. Residents of Varna and nearby areas are invited to view the facility.
