Fire at the James B Studebaker farm four and a half miles west of Grand Ridge destroys a corn crib garage and touring car along with farming machinery and tools. Loss about 7000 dollars. Cause unknown sparked during a snowstorm discovered shortly after 4 o clock by Raedx Studebaker who saw flames from a rear window.

Fire Destroys Whitefield Country House

George Lane and Bill Taylor fought a close main bout with Lane winning the first fall after 39 minutes and Taylor forfeiting after tiring winds. Wolves Kill Sheep Near LeRoy Bracken Farm
The wolves blamed for nightly sheep losses west of Henry and Putnam were killed Saturday afternoon after being tracked since morning. Pete Maubach reported six lambs missing, and about a dozen farmers followed the trail, with one wolf captured in a corn field weighing about 75 pounds and estimated at ten years old. L. Clawson suffered twelve lambs killed, one of the heaviest losses in the area over the past year.

Red Williams and Ivan Clark opened their new pool room in the hotel building basement on Saturday. New tables have been installed and the old ones sent to Chicago. The location is convenient to the public via an outside stairway and to hotel guests via an inside stairway. Cigars tobacco candy and soft drinks will be stocked as before.
