McNabb Grain Co Reports Big Business At Annual Meeting
The McNabb Grain Company held its annual meeting Monday. Secretary J. Bumgarner reported 60,382 bushels of wheat 101,047 bushels of oats 1200 bushels of rye and 242,588 bushels through the elevator at Me for members and others. The operation moved 1600 tons of coal 160 tons of flour and feed two cars of tile and 10,000 pounds of twine for member convenience. A good dividend was declared. Officers for 1923: E. O. About thirty three friends and neighbors held a surprise farewell party for Mr and Mrs Vincent Merdian as they prepare to move to a new home. Daniel Wesley Horrom born February 18 1848 in Seneca Illinois died January 20 after a long illness in his city home. He leaves a wife two sons and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at the Boatland Methodist Church with Masonic rites and many relatives attending from nearby towns.

J Wesley Watkins son of David and Eliza Janet Hoskins was born November 26 1848 and died January 21 1928 aged 44 years 1 month and 26 days He was the oldest resident of Steuben township living within one mile of his birthplace He attended the little Red School House and became a wide reader and observer of men and events A Democrat who influenced his party he held many township offices and served eight years as secretary of Sparland Lodge No 441 AF and AM and Sparland Chapter EO Theod Star He joined Bethel Methodist Episcopal church eighteen years ago and was a generous donor He suffered a severe flu about three years ago and bronchial pneumonia ten days before his death He leaves a brother Albert two nieces Mrs Ethel Gibbs Miss Mabelle Watkins two nephews Leslie and D T Watkins two grand nephews Wesley Wallace Watkins two grand nieces Vivian Lucile Gibbs and Georgia Alberta Watkins and other relatives

Mrs N J Peterson Dies After Long Life In Varna
Mrs N J Peterson died quietly at her Varna home on Monday afternoon after a long illness. Born in Askars ham Sweden she came to the United States in 1867 and lived in Oxbow Roberts farm and later Varna. She was a charter member of the Swedish Lutheran church and leaves her husband six sons and two daughters. Funeral services were held at the Swedish Lutheran church with Rev Nilsson officiating.
