Mrs. Clara Day Dies Suddenly at Home Near Henry
Clara Strawn Day born February 3 1863 in Hopewell township Marshall County Illinois lived near Lacon most of life. She married Charles H Day February 25 1891 and had two sons Bert E and Olin S. She died January 16 from apoplexy while in the kitchen on a farm northwest of Henry. Funeral January 18 at 1 pm at the Henry area farm home with Rev Edgar E Atherton. Interment in Lacon Mausoleum. She leaves husband two sons four brothers and two sisters.

John Curry Dies in Springfield Hospital After Illness
John Curry son of the late James and Mary Curry died in St John’s hospital Springfield after a long cancer illness. He was 61 or 62, born on a farm west of Henry, lived east as a railroad worker, survived by sister Mrs Margaret Reismeyer and several half siblings. Funeral at St Joseph’s Church Henry with high mass. interment St Patrick’s Cemetery. Casket bearers were five half brothers and a brother in law. Last Rites Held on Friday for Gustav Meier
Funeral services for Gustav Meier were held Friday afternoon at 2:30 at his home on School Street with Rev. H G Dusenberry officiating. The service featured songs by Mrs. Alvin Barry and Mrs. John Hartley, with Mrs. William Monahan at the piano. Committal took place in Henry cemetery amid flowers as business associates closed shops to attend. Meier, born December 13, 1870 in Henry, Marshall County, Ill, lived a lengthy career in Henry in hardware firms including Meier Bros. Hardware and L A Meier & Sons before venturing on his own. He died January 15 after a sudden illness at his place of business. He was married to Mellie Simon of Chicago twenty three years ago and left a wife, a step-daughter Bertha Hartley of Colorado Springs, a half-brother Louis Meier, and nephews Charles and Louis Meier.
