Henry Grade School Board Plans For Next Year
The board of education previews next fall with anticipated 40 to 41 first graders and about 300 enrolled. The meeting approved radiator valves to reduce noise and improve heating, new fluorescent lighting in the sixth grade room, 35 new magic books for all eight grades, and new seats for first graders. Board members present included Dewey, Ndall, Stange, Rowe, and Daylor with Quinn and Van Deveer absent.

Henry Post 323 American Legion begins planning its annual Fourth of July festivities to be held July 1 2 3 and 4. Charles Hoffman serves as present commander while Leo Smith and Vince Coford co chair the event with Francis McEvoy named publicity chairman. The post aims for fireworks carnival free acts and gifts following a record crowd last year and will form committees for final plans at the February meeting. The Marshall Putnam Farms Bureau board approved sale of the Henry Locker Plant to five Putnam county men Boyle Brothers Walter Durley Francis Carrie Brothers Harold and Herb Le Lyle Modine as of February 1.
