Farm accident injures Clarence at Saratoga sheller
Clarence, son of Mr and Mrs M Clarence, suffered an injury in a corn sheller accident at the Russel l farm in Saratoga Friday afternoon. He was taken to Henry Hospital, then Margaret Hospital, where he remains recovering and able to sit up. He lives with his mother and works on the family farm.

Keith N Prager 22 son of Mr and Mrs W J Drager of Magnolia Mississippi was promoted from second lieutenant to first lieutenant in the Eighth Air Force Bomber Station England. Col Frank P Hunter Jr commanding officer of the 398th heavy bombardment group announced the promotion. Drager is co-pilot of a B 17 Flying Fortress and a Magnolia High School graduate class of 1940. He attended the University of Illinois Urbana before joining the army February 23 1943. His wife Ferne Billups Drager is also from Magnolia.

Survived by wife Margaret Heintz two months married in 1907 and a half brother Frank Ganzer of Los Angeles. Funeral Monday at St Josephs Church Chenoa officiated by Fr Thomas Mulcahy burial Calgary Cemetery Chenoa.

Successful Farm Sale At J W Clement Farm
The J W Clement farm sale on Tuesday January 16 drew a large crowd and keen bidding. The top cow sold for 176 dollars and a 21 month old Helfer cow brought 90 dollars. Dale's Market Adopts Self Service Next Week
Dale's Market in Henry will switch to a self service format effective Monday morning January 22. The store size was increased and redecorated with white interiors and new counters. Orders by telephone remain and deliveries continue on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The butcher will provide service as before but customers pay at the cashier after meat is weighed.
