Charles D. Johnson announced the census of business will start in Marshall County on January 20 with four enumerators. Offices will be at Peoria federal building and Philadelphia will tabulate results. The effort covers banks, hotels, real estate, insurers, construction, transportation, warehousing, and professional services in 1936.

Charles B. Roger died Thursday evening after a brief illness at his Peoria home. Funeral services were held Sunday at the Alten Chapel with burial at Prospective Cemetery. He was survived by his wife and two daughters and was well known in Peoria and Dunlap. Reports note the funeral was one of the largest ever held there.

Bradford Church Levelled by Fire in Bradford
Memorial Methodist church in Bradford destroyed by fire Tuesday night with losses over 40000 dollars. Fire started inside the church and Gixa and the Wyoming department aided Bradford volunteers. Fred Elgin Band Leader Dies in Peoria
Fred Igin longtime director of Elgin's Band of Peoria died at St Francis hospital after a weeklong illness. He led the Peoria band that performed in Peoria for the bridge dedication on August 15. He served in Peoria postal service for 35 years before retiring two years ago.

Last Rites Wednesday for Lacon Man
Funeral services were held Wednesday for Rich arp Anske at the late home in Lacon. He died Monday night after 35 years in local business. Born October 2 1860 in Lacon he married Fanny Mallory in 1896 and had two children Clifford and Helen Anske. Survived by widow one grandson a sister and a brother. Burial followed at Lacon cemetery.

Lacon Man Jailed on Charge of Hog Stealing
Clifford Bishop, 40, a Lincon sawmill hand, was arrested last Tuesday on larceny and hog slaughter charges. Police seized a 220 pound hog buried in a Princeville area snowbank and linked tracks to Bishop’s car. He will face Peoria County grand jury action after a morning arrest by Sheriff Os bore and Deputy Brown.
