Memorial Service for Mrs Hulda J Olson at Methodist Church
The memorial service for Hulda J Olson was held at the Methodist Church in Sparland with Rev L Breen and Rev W F Powell in charge. Scripture and prayer preceded songs sung by Mrs Bessie Harvey. Mrs Rena Greene attended, and Mrs Olson was laid to rest in Sparland Cemetery beside her husband. Born August 14 1859 in Stockholm Sweden she came to America as a young woman and married Henry Olen in Princeton.

Plaque Dedication Honors Sparland High School Veteran
Sparland High School dedicated a memorial plaque Wednesday January 19 at 8 pm in the school gymnasium to honor former students serving in the armed forces. The program featured Invocation by John Benson pastor of First Baptist Church and performances by the school chorus and band under Harold Jones. The plaque lists 108 names with more to be added as servicemen go to duty.
