Walter Myers 34 dies after flu relapse at La Prairie
Funeral services were held Monday at La Prairie U P Church for Walter Myers aged 34 years 6 months 21 days. He died from a relapse of influenza. He leaves a wife five children his parents three brothers and other relatives. Interment was in the church cemetery. The service was conducted by the M E pastor from Wyoming due to illness of Rev Bailey.

Former Hennepin Resident Dies at Rock Island
Manas Schmitt 79 formerly of Hennepin and a Rock Island Lines employee for 23 years died suddenly at his Rock Island home after a fall from stairs possibly linked to a heart attack. Born in Alsace Lorraine on April 26 1853 he moved to the United States at 19, married Magdalene Ricard in Hennepin May 27 1879 and was pensioned in 1924. Surviving are his wife two daughters two sons two sisters and eight grandchildren. Funeral at his residence and Sacred Heart church with burial in Calvary cemetery.

Henry Fire company responded to an alarm at the T. C. Waterous residence in Deacon Hill shortly after o'clock Monday morning where a roof fire was reported to progress. Firemen subdued the flames before serious damage. It is believed sparks from the chimney ignited the shingled roof.
