Pvt Raymond Henkins son of Mr and Mrs Harley Henkins of Henry died December 23 1945 in Korea from smallpox. A war department telegram confirmed the loss received the same day after letters from Raymond described his duties as a hospital ambulance driver. He was 19, starred in Henry High School, and is survived by his parents brothers Kenneth Harley Jr and Merle and sisters Myrtle Lois Betty and Gertrude Eileen. Pvt Ralph Briner recently arrived on furlough and both men had reenlisted but papers delayed discharge.
