Sparland Recluse Emmet Anderson Found Dead at Home
Emmet Anderson of Sparland was found dead December 18 by neighbors after living alone for years. Born August 4 1863 in Sparland, he died at 61 with four sisters and four brothers surviving. A coroner’s inquest listed death from unknown causes. Funeral services conducted by Rev. E W Albaugh at Gehr undertaking rooms. Interment in Sparland cemetery.

Open-Breast Pin Lodges In Little Girl's Throat
A three year old girl, daughter of Mr and Mrs Joe Dauber, swallowed an open chatelaine pin used to pin watches to dresses. While climbing onto a lap, the pin was placed in her mouth and lodged in her throat. Her mother turned her upside down and promptly dislodged the pin, causing no harm.

Car Stolen and Recovered in Varna Later
A Varna garage was broken into on Monday morning and Dr. Johnson’s Essex coach stolen. The car was found later that day abandoned in Peoria, and the robbers were not yet apprehended.
