Harry the dog rescues two men from icy lake
Two salesmen Jacklin and Murphy rode an all terrain vehicle onto Lake Thunderbird when the ice broke. Unable to reach them, Henry Fire Department and responders used a rope held by Bud Murphys dog Harry to haul the vehicle and men to shore. The rescue was completed before 4 p.m. Oak Park native Jacklin later spoke of the frightening ordeal.
