Formfit Company, a New York and Chicago wear manufacturer, buys 10.5 acres at the northeast corner of Roosevelt Road and Laramie Avenue in Chicago for a modern one story assembly plant. Final Rites Thursday For Pfc LeRoy Modro
Memorial services were held near Toluca for Private First Class LeRoy Modro killed in action March 15 1945 in Southern France. He was buried March 17 in the US Military Cemetery at St Avold, France. His body arrived in Toluca Wednesday afternoon and was met by an escort from John Rolinski Post No 440 American Legion.

Former Lacon Resident Dies at Elmhurst
Henry Specht aged 89, a former Lacon resident who had lived with his son in Elmhurst, died December 12. Born November 30, 186, in Lacon, he worked as a mail clerk for the Geka railroad in Washington before his wife’s death five years ago. Survived by sister Mrs. Marion Sherburne of Lacon and brother John of Omaha, Neb. Funeral services were held Wednesday with local relatives in attendance.

Walter Moline Dies After Illness at Minonk
Walter Moline aged 49, former Henry resident, died at his Minonk home after a three year illness. Funeral rites were held at the Tallyn Memorial Home in Minonk at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Born January 22, 1899 in Princeton, he served in World War I and married Helen Grampp in Princeton on December 26, 1928. The couple lived in Aurora and Henry before moving to Minonk in 1932 where he managed Granby Produce. He was active in civic affairs, a former Henry city councilman, and a member of the Minonk American Legion and Princeton Masonics. He is survived by his wife, his daughter Gloria June, and his brother Harry Moline of Henry. Burial was at Oakland Cemetery, Princeton, with Masonic rites by Princeton Magonic Lodge. Attendees included relatives from Henry, Peotla, Avon and other nearby towns.

Memorial Rites Wednesday For Charles Elgin
Memorial services for Technical Sergeant Charles L. Elgin will be held at St. Mary's Church at 9 a.m. Wednesday, January 12. Elgin sacrificed while serving in the United States Air Corps during World War II after his plane crashed March 26, 1945 on a bombing mission over Germany. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Elgin of Henry, have been notified that his remains with military escorts will arrive in Henry Monday, Jan. 10. Friends may call at Brennan Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Monday. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home Tuesday evening. The Rev. Laurence Schumacher will officiate at the high mass of requiem and interment will follow at Henry City Cemetery. The Henry Post, American Legion, will be in charge of guard and military graveside rites.
