City Merchants Association Formed at City Hall
A new merchants and professionals association was organized at city hall on Tuesday evening. A. J. Ironmonger was elected president with Harry Moline as secretary and treasurer. An executive committee was named to draft a plan of procedure for the group to review at the next regular meeting. The body plans to lobby for Henry bridge, road improvements, events, and ordinance enforcement to curb outside competition.

Edward B Smith longtime Henry township resident died at his home in the city at noon December 30 after a brief illness. He was 73 years 1 month 11 days old and funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church at 2 PM on New Year’s Day, with interment in Henry City cemetery. He served 12 years on the Marshall county board of Supervisors and was active in church work. He is survived by Grace M Smith his widow and several nieces and nephews.

Rev Lewis Phillips Called to Last Reward
