He addressed the assembly on emotional government and later was a guest speaker at the Lacon Rotary meeting chaired by John Holler. Others from Toluca Rotary attended as well as the English guest. The meeting included a rendition of God Save the King with It Schrock leading the choir.

A large fire on Saturday December 22 destroyed a barn and dairy equipment at the Ira N Thompson farm on Route 88 near Lawn Ridge. Fred J Ely, the occupying tenant, lost eight dairy cows four calves hay feed a milking machine and other dairy gear.
