John Hofer died at home in Henry on December 28 1940 at 76 years 7 months 4 days after a weeklong pneumonia illness. Funeral services were at St Marys Church June 31 with interment at Calvary Cemetery. survivors include two daughters Mildred and Corrine two sons Herbert and Alden and eight grandchildren. Out of town mourners attended from several nearby towns and relatives.
