Death of Andrew Stibgen at 75 in Marengo Illinois
Mrs Jack Hunter receives notice of the death of her uncle Andrew Stibgen of Marengo Illinois aged 75. He died December 17 and was born in West Fairview Pennsylvania. A miller by trade he ran a milling and feed business in Marengo for years, selling it in 1922 to Jack Hunter and retiring. Surviving are two sons Geary of Chicago and Aubrey of Reevie.

Salvation Army tag day planned across Marshall Putnam Stark and Woodford counties on Saturday January 4 1936. Local girls will handle tagging under Illinois Salvation Army relief program sponsorship by Lacan American Legion post. Last year US Salvation Army distributed over 31 million meals at ten cents each. Everyone urged to donate a dime for tags to support Illinois relief work. Sparland Family Frozen Car Stalls in Snow Drift
Mr and Mrs Vernon Blackwell and family of Sparland spent Christmas Day at the Charles Kimble home in LaPrairie. On the way home their car became stuck in a snow drift. Mr Blackwell collapsed from exhaustion but a doctor was called and he recovered after a few hours.

Suit filed to recover public funds from Bradford Exchange
William Menier a highway commissioner of Milo township Bureau County filed a suit in Stark County circuit court to recover 646 dollars of county highway funds deposited in the Bradford Exchange bank which closed June 27 1982. Defendants include Edward R Clark Dwight Packard James B Adams and trustees Gubbins. A 1934 township meeting waived 50 percent of the amount and Menier says he received nothing. The suit seeks the total 646 dollars and raises questions on legal authority to waive public funds.
