Mary Sparling born February 22, 1848 near Putnam died December 23 1929 after brief illness at age 81 years 10 months 1 day. Survived by son George E Wheeler daughter Jennie A Swift Minnie E Belecke seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral services conducted by Rev Shaw and Rev Kinsman with burial in Putnam cemetery beside husband Verlina Wheeler.

Mrs Mary Ellen Prather Buried At Annawan
Funeral services for Mrs Mary Ellen Camp Prather aged 83 died at the home of her daughter Nellie Baker in Annawan were held at the Annawan community church with Rev Eddy McOmber officiating. Burial followed in Sheffield cemetery. She was born May 9 1846 in Harrisburg PA and lived in Hennepin Buda Sheffield area before marrying Geo W Prather of Sheffield on March 20 1867. Survived by four sons William Warren Edward Prather of Henry and Fred of Princeton, one daughter Nellie Baker of Annawan, eighteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers.

Dance at Henry Theatre Draws Large Christmas Crowd
About 150 couples attended the first in a series of community dances at the Henry Theatre on Christmas night. The Serenaders eight piece band supplied the music with Miss Dorothea Anderson performing several waltzes with the orchestra. The second dance is set for Wednesday night January 15 and enthusiasts are invited.

Mrs. Alice Ketchum Young aged 72 died in Biloxi Mississippi after years of poor health. She was born in Ohio and married twice to Hiram Daley and Sidney Ketchum. Funeral services were held December 27 at the M E Church in Henry with burial in Henry cemetery. She leaves a son John Daley and a daughter Zora Hinton plus a grandson Richard Daley Chicago.

D A R Holds Christmas Meeting at Waterous Home
Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution gathered at Mrs C Waterous home on Saturday afternoon December 28 for a Christmas meeting. The scene featured a tree with red blue and green lights and wreaths. Each member brought a gift to exchange and a motion was passed to donate to the health band supplying nurses to schools. Bridge crowned Mrs Coggeshall high scorer and a dainty lunch followed with miniature Christmas trees and favors.
