Respected Milo Citizen Called to Eternal Rest
Mrs Joseph Hufnagel longtime Milo township resident died last Wednesday at her son Jesse Hufnagel’s home after a period of ill health following her husband’s death. Born May 26 1858 in Milo she married Joseph Hufnagel February 28 1881 at Princeton and had six children four died in infancy. only Jesse M Hufnagel and Mamie A Hopkins survive with several grandchildren and her siblings Nellie Nail and George Reid. The Christian church early in life, she was remembered for kindness as neighbors recall her deeds. Funeral held Saturday at Milo M E church with Rev T W Thompson officiating. burial in Mound Cemetery.

Seed Corn Culling School Draws Wide Interest
About 40 progressive Marshall Putnam farmers attended a seed corn culling school by the Farm Bureau. Thirteen of sixteen townships were represented despite bad roads. One Richland farmer traveled far to attend and carry seed corn for testing. The session highlighted waste in untested seed and high disease rates, with 12 percent disease free and 46 percent badly diseased in a Putnam county sample. Forty men will assist Farm Bureau in county seed corn tests this March at Klein & Batch garage.

Train Kills Lostant Man Wednesday Night
Michael Sameer of Lostant was struck by a passenger train Wednesday around 7 22 pm and died from chest injuries and scalp wounds. The victim born April 23 1866 in Bornholm Denmark came to America in 1890 and lived in Lostant ever since with his wife Anna Marie Anderson. He leaves three grandchildren and two brothers. Funeral services were held February 21 at the M church with Rev Eckstrand and several named neighbors assisting. He was buried in Hope cemetery.

A Sunday collision on a fog shrouded river valley road near Rome involved a Ford coupe owned by Paul Barth and a Hudson touring car with Peoria occupants.
