Corporal Floyd Bogner known as Toy dies in a military air crash on a routine flight from Dayton Ohio to Indianapolis Indiana. Born October 1 1916 at Grove Illinois he grew up in Henry Illinois attended St Marys and Henry High School then Illinois State Normal University. He enlisted January 1942 and trained as airplane mechanic before joining the 1st Troop Carrier Command at Stout Field Indianapolis. A military funeral was held at St Church with Henry Scouts and American Legion Post 323 in attendance.

Arthur Swartz of Wenona Dies at 76
Arthur Swartz 76, a lifelong Wenona area farmer, died at 4 a.m. Monday after a long illness at St. Marys Hospital Streator. He was born July 7 1866, son of William and Elizabeth Swartz, married Harriet Duke in 1888, and is survived by a sister Miss Sarah Swartz and a brother-in-law Junius Brown along with several nephews. Funeral services were held at his residence with Rev. Dickerson officiating and burial beside his wife in Henry City Cemetery.
