Robert Owen Casson former Hennepin resident died in Flushing Michigan on October 5 1928 from sarcoma of the throat after months of illness He was born in Hennepin in 1876 educated there and at Knox Business College He married Georgia Filles in 1900 and had a son Robert Henry now 16 He lived in Alexis Illinois Flint Michigan and Flushing Michigan before moving to real estate work in Flushing Funeral services were held at the home on Monday October 8 at 2 pm burial in Flushing Cemetery Sympathy is extended to his wife and son by friends in Hennepin and vicinity

At Wenona a meeting of the Marshall County Bankers Association pledged full support for 4-H club work in Marshall and Putnam counties. A. R. Wright of the Marshall County State Bank Varna called club work fundamental to the nation’s agricultural welfare. A $7,500 bond was furnished Friday for Howard Prather with Henry J Meister A B Child William Prather Howard Stoner Edward Prather C M Lucas and William E Green as securities and Jess Schooling of Chillicothe signing to meet Peoria county requirements. The bond was posted before Judge T N Green. Prather, famed for a clean reputation, has mourned since the Wednesday noon accident involving a freight truck bound for Henry with a freight consignment. Miss Hughes, once of Galva, moved to Peoria with her family two years ago and worked in the Block Kuhl office. Funeral services were held Sunday and burial followed in a Galva cemetery.

Carl Finkenbinder of Lacon and Miss Edith McCully of LaRose married at noon Saturday in Peoria at the Universalist church parsonage by Rev. B. G. Carpentier. The bride is daughter of J. S. McCully. The Doby Hunt residence in Gimlet Hollow near Sparland was consumed by fire last Tuesday evening with origin undetermined. Mrs Hunt and the two small children were inside. no telephone or nearby neighbors caused delays. The building and all furniture and clothing were destroyed.

Dairy Herd Improvement leaders announced for November
Wilson Bros and McNabb led the Dairy Herd Improvement Association with the top producing cow yielding 60.7 lbs of fat from 876 lbs of milk in November. Frank Crabbs of Henry posted 56.9 lbs from 1423 lbs in 27 days, while Frank Wilson of Spain had the second highest herd average at 24.2 lbs per cow over 20 cows.

Mrs Peter Apfel, a well known resident of the city, died at home Wednesday evening after a weeklong illness of flu pneumonia. The funeral will be held Saturday at 2 o clock at the Christian church.
