Homer Montgomery, director of 4 H Club projects in Marshall and Putnam counties, reports a large show at the fair next week. Beef calves will be judged by weight, with 60 to 65 heads on exhibit and a grand champion to be named. The 4 H pig show will be sizable with many barrows, litters, and gilts. Jersey dairy classes are strong, but Holsteins and Guernseys are fewer. colt and sheep shows are expected smaller.

Dewey and Son, operating grain elevators in Henry and Sparland with river and waterway facilities, bought the Spencer riverfront lots near the Henry Waterworks Park. A large new river elevator is contemplated with construction possibly starting next spring or early summer pending market conditions. St Marys Parochial School Will Open Monday
St Marys Parochial School will open after the 8 oclock mass Tuesday morning. Sisters Martina and Helen arrive from Peoria to supervise the opening. Members of the congregation assisted in cleaning the interior and preparing the entrance area during the two weeks. The building has been painted and reinforced with new steps and a brick wall at the entrance near the Ligiers’ quarters.
