Miss County Fair crown goes to Anne Foster in Saratoga
Anne Foster 18 daughter of Mr and Mrs Alvin Foster won the Miss County Fair title at the Saratoga township fair opening. She will study music at Illinois Wesleyan Bloomington after graduation. Second place went to Ann Meller of Lacon and third to Carolyn Tindall of Henry. Eight contestants from Marshall and Putnam counties competed in interviews.

Fair Harness Racing Returns for Marshall Putnam Program
The 40th Marshall Putnam fair in Henry offers two more afternoons of harness racing with a 1 p.m. band concert followed by races at 3:30 p.m. Thursday features the 3 year old pace stakes for 1500 dollars the 20 trot and the 24 pace each 450 dollars.
