The Marshall Putnam counties Farm Bureau invites members to a Thursday September 12 tour at the Viron Gustafson farm ten miles west of Henry to view live stock management including swine beef and sheep. A separate Livestock Outlook meeting is planned for Friday September 6 with G B Whitman University agricultural economist discussing hog and cattle prices supply and meat demand.

Last Rites Held Saturday For Francis L Anderson
Francis LeRoy Anderson age 37 died Friday August 23 at St Margaret's hospital Spring Valley. Funeral services were at Green Funeral Home at 2 pm Saturday with Rev Ray Schultz of Henry Christian church officiating. Interment at Putnam cemetery. Pallbearers included Ward Anderson Charles Murphy Duane Beatty Leland Kelley Donald Wight Leonard Wright. He was born September 4 1920 at Tiskilwa and moved to Putnam in 1944 to work in trucking. He is survived by his parents a brother Richard two sisters Mrs Lloyd Rowe and Mrs Dorothy Schneid a grandmother Minnie Hock five nephews and four nieces. He was a member of the Putnam Christian church.

James A Duvall aged 61 of Lostant died unexpectedly at his brother’s Tonica home on August 20. Funeral held August 22 at Lostant Methodist Church with Rev W W Harding officiating. Burial at Hope Cemetery. Rocket Conductor Eugene Jacobs Dies in Chicago
Eugene Jacobs, longtime conductor for the Peoria Rocket on the Rock Island Lines based in Bureau, died August 21 at Veterans Research hospital in Chicago after a three week hospital stay. Funeral services were held August 24 at Norberg's funeral home in Princeton. He is survived by his wife and several stepchildren.
