Funeral notices report Byard Bell of Henry County died in Los Angeles after a cerebral hemorrhage. He was 36, survived by his wife and daughters Jean 15 Madeline 11 Roberta 11, and his parents Mr. and Mrs. Lolita Bell. A Henry High graduate, he served in World War I, married Florence Ball in 1919, and moved to California to work in the land business. Arrangements not yet complete.

Burial planned in California.

Frank Stinger 71 a McNabb farm hand died Sunday night after suffering a stroke. He had been recovering from injuries when a wagon wheel passed over him three weeks ago. Born March 8 1865 in Newton Iowa he farmed near Magnolia before moving to McNabb last year. Surviving are four daughters Mrs James Reynolds Mrs Floyd Pyle Granville Ia Mrs Kauffman and Mrs Henry Davenport Davenport Ia and son Melvin Stinger.

Two Barns Hit by Lightning Near Sparland
Two large barns were struck by lightning Tuesday night west of Sparland. One barn on Fred Herridge's farm three miles west of Sparland burned, with hay, 100 chickens, two calves, and farm equipment lost. Chillicothe fire department protected the dwelling. The second barn on L Sarrelly's farm near Conrad Schutter's tenancy burned hay, straw, oats and equipment. Telephone lines west of Sparland were damaged and repaired Wednesday.
