Prominent Magnolia Citizen Morphew Dies at 44
George Augustus Morphew, longtime Magnolia resident and insurer, died at home Wednesday morning after a nine month illness. Born May 11, 1883 in Nora Springs, he was 44 years old. Former Henry Resident Struck by Trolley
George P. Moore, 65, a former Henry resident living with his nephew in Peoria, was seriously injured last Tuesday afternoon when struck by a Heights street car at Prospect avenue and Lake street. He did not see the approaching car without eyeglasses, was dragged along tracks, treated at home by Dr. W. T. Marrs, and required six stitches for a deep nose wound and severe bruises.

A large crowd attended the fifth annual Knights of Pythias picnic at Riviera Park on Thursday. Morning events included a milk drinking contest, sprints, and a potato race with winners from Fort Collins and Mercian. Dinner followed with talks by Rep Michael Henneberry and Rev Fr Walsh, then a K of P vs K of C baseball game ended 20 to 6. Ray Johnson's orchestra provided music for dancing all day.

Streator Youth Charged With Mother's Murder
State's Attorney Russell Anson and Chief Robb traveled to Chicago to pursue a lead on Harry Hill 22 former Knox College student now charged with the murder of his wealthy mother Mrs Elizabeth Hill of Streator. The search followed questioning of Hill's fiancée Alice Sawyer 20 who testified before the coroner's jury investigating the slaying.

Funeral services were held in Forest Park Illinois for Anton Thomas of Chicago son of Phillip and Agnes Thomas born September 5 1883 in this city.
