Miss Esther Hunter daughter of Hiram Hunter and William A Ong son of Judson Ong of Kansas City wed in Peoria in a quiet ceremony. The couple, living in Henry and New Orleans respectively, planned secrecy but a local notice revealed the marriage. On their return from La Salle a Ford accident left Mrs Ong with a broken arm and Mr Ong with a forehead cut before they reached Henry.

Lightning Strikes Farm Barns in Severe Storm
A severe electric storm hit the area early Tuesday causing two barns to burn. The Blackburn farm barn, 48 by 60 feet, contained 30 tons of hay and was destroyed, with five sets of harness burned. neighbors saved a nearby tool shed and corn crib. Dr Powell's farm barn, 40 by 60, held 50 tons of hay and 400 bushels of oats, with partial insurance and significant loss. Miss Lottie Collins’s house was struck by lightning but only minor damage occurred to plaster and a burned meter. a bolt also lightly damaged the Charles McAllister barn.
