Eight year old Hodges drowns in river near dam ruins
Everett Ontario Hodges aged eight, son of Mr and Mrs Holger, disappeared while fishing from the ruins of an old dam across the river. After hours of searching with draglines and grappling hooks, the body was recovered. Epileptic history likely caused a seizure and fall into the water. Coroner Louis Lenz ruled accidental drowning. Funeral held at Methodist Episcopal church with burial at Henrysite cemetery. Born June 13, 1925 in Decatur. a second year student at St Mary's.

G H Roberts Dies At Home In Henry County
G H Roberts died at his Henry County home last Saturday August 19 after a lengthy illness caused by heart trouble. Funeral services were held at the residence Monday with Rev Mrs Raycroft of the First Baptist church Sparland officiating. Interment followed in Chillicothe with Masonic rites at the grave. He was born March 11, 1871 in Pontiac Illinois and married Margaret Russell in 1898. He moved to Marshall County in 1903 and since 1925 lived in Henry near the Rock Island station with his wife. He is survived by his widow and one brother. Relatives and friends from Clohe Peoria La Prairie attended.

Joseph P. Flanagan aged 79 committed suicide by hanging at his son's home in Saratoga township on Sunday night after a period of ill health. Coroner Louis Lenz impaneled a jury, which returned a verdict of suicide. He left behind a large family including wife Mary Ann Flynn predeceased and four children. He was born in 1854 in Brooklyn and spent most of his life in Illinois farming communities.
