Services Friday For Aged Lacon Resident
Herman Krueger, 79, father of Mrs. Gus Bortolotti, died at the Bortolotti home north of Lacon after a several month illness. Funeral services at Ehringer Funeral Home in Lacon at 2 pm Friday, conducted by Rev Manning. Krueger, born in Germany, came to the United States about 40 years ago and lived near Lacon for some time. Mrs. Bortolotti is his only child and sole survivor.

Judy Whitney returned to Chicago with her cousin Melissa Benbow after a ten day visit with the Whitney grandparents in Green Mountain Falls Colorado. They rode the Rocky Mountain Rocket toured Pike's Peak rodeos and the cog railway and noted rain and cool nights. The grandfather’s health improved and Judy’s mother considered plane travel home with the two girls from Colorado Springs to Chicago.

Funeral services will be held at the Sparland Methodist Church Friday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Vesta Wheeler 86, former Henry resident, who died at home in Sparland. The Rev. F N Whittle and Rev. Chesney Sells Pilot Hill Farm to Hawks in Putnam Co
The Pilot Hill stock farm of Sam G. Chesney in Putnam County was sold last week to Milton Hawk and his son of Washburn. The Hawks will take possession March 1, 1948. She was taken to St Francis Hospital in Peoria after diagnosis by local doctors and shows improved condition with no paralysis yet.
