Gian Andri Niggli a 17 year old Swiss AFS student will attend a Henry Senachwine High School picnic at Goodrich Park to meet the community. He will be hosted by the Bruce Bauters and the AFS committee and is set to share his background in a brief talk. AFS hosts describe Gian as multilingual and eager to engage with residents for speaking engagements. He speaks five languages and enjoys piano and accordion, mountain climbing, skiing, soccer, gymnastics and track.

Jail break attempt stopped at Marshall County jail
About 10:30 to 10:45 p.m. four prisoners tried to reach a window by removing a screen and hacking through four bars with saw blades. The 17-year-old, Jack Tuttle of Rockford, Steve Moore of Varna, and Anthony Hanson of Rockford were charged with attempted jail break. Hanson was also charged as an aide after being picked up in Rockford.
