Mrs Fogerty Dies After Ten Days Illness at 73
Ellen Finnegan Fogerty died Saturday evening at her daughter’s home after a ten day illness. Born in Lone Tree, she married Timothy Fogerty in 1894 and raised six children. She was a devout Catholic, active until a stroke six years ago, and survived by six grandchildren and several siblings. Funeral at St Joseph’s Church with burial at St Francis Cemetery Lone Tree.

New River Elevator Nears Completion at Henry River Front
The new river elevator built by W. W. Dewey & Sons on the Henry river front is nearly finished with the building and machinery installed. A test run of wheat moved from the Dewey railroad elevator through the river facility, showing the system works. Cedar Rapids contractor R. R. Mayberry is finishing the office building and drives around the site. Once the drives firm up, a barge of grain will be loaded from the new dock, and the facility is expected to begin receiving grain soon.
