The Illinois State Fair runs August 17 to 24 offering 138000 in cash prizes and features educational exhibits from state and U S Department of Agriculture. Veterans day 4 H shows horse show races carnival fireworks AAA auto races Beckman and Gerety attractions daily. Admission 25 cents plus grandstand charges.
Mrs. Ed Smith in Tunnel Hill Georgia discovered a baby chick born from eggs she left atop a kitchen cupboard. The eggs hatched after three weeks in the warm cupboard heat.
