Under F S Clift as general chair, the Christian Sunday school held its annual picnic at Long View Beach last Thursday. About a hundred people enjoyed ideal weather, a cafeteria style fried chicken meal, boat riding and swimming, followed by games supervised by Mildren Madden and Floy Grabtree with prizes awarded. No accidents occurred and country members threshing did not dampen the success. thanks were extended to the Dan Morgan family for hospitality.

The M P Boys and Girls 4 H club judging contest Met Friday at 2 p m in Henry high school gym The Clear Creek Boosters of McNabb won with a demonstration titled The Control of Corn Diseases Through Selection Joe Bum garner and Joe Boyle presented the winning talk The five major corn diseases in Illinois are Diversinetia Fusarium Gibberella Scutellum rat and Black Bungle disease They showed that proper physical selection and a preparator could help prevent these diseases The boys will travel to Marshall Putnam for the fair
