Amza Joyce longtime Henry resident and businessman died at his home Sunday noon. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 12 o'clock from his First street home with E H Comstock officiating. Interment followed in Henry City Cemetery under Knights of Pythias and D O K K lodge direction. He was 1871 born in Henry and leaves a son Leo Ivan Joyce and wife Zelma Murphy Joyce.

State Fair Secures AAA Sanctioned Auto Races
Illinois state fair announces AAA sanctioned national championship auto races on Saturday August 25. State school distributes July tax receipts to fund
The state school distributive fund received 1 737 651.39 dollars from July sales and gasoline taxes. It credited 875 000 from sales tax collections on Tuesday and added 862 651.39 from July gasoline taxes. This gasoline tax diversion begins the eight month period under the social session law authorizing such diversions. The state’s schools will receive one third of the gas tax receipts for eight consecutive months.
