Dissolution of Four Putnam County Rural School Districts
County Superintendent Thomas M. Kennedy ordered hearings on dissolving four dormant rural districts in Putnam county. Territory was reassigned: Hullinger District No.14 to Standard Grade School No.4. Shepard No.7 to Hennepin No.8. Sand Prairie No.18 mostly to No.8 with portions to No.17 and No.532. remaining districts automatically dissolved. Trustees will manage abandoned buildings after annexing districts indicate no longer needed.

Henry city increases levy for library and city buildings
The Henry city council adopted an 17 500 levy for the coming year up from 17 000 last year to fund library maintenance and a new heating plant. The Timmons family reunion gathered at Waterworks park with Mrs. R C Green and Will Timmons among the last older members attending.

Thompson Truck Wrecks on Route 29 Injures Fishermen
A Thompson Fisheries truck overturned on Route 29 north of Henry Friday evening. Drivers Glenn Feddericke and Al Fountain escaped with minor injuries as the fish load spread across a wide area. Doc Hall and bystanders aided the men before Klein Motor Co. towed the wrecked truck, insured loss.

Roger Holmbeck son of Russell and Mrs Holmbeck northwest of McNabb and south of Granville won the grand championship at the Marshall Putnam 4-H show with a native bred Shorthorn weighing under 865 pounds. Don Flinner won the Angus class and Clyde Storm led the Hereford entrant over 1,200 pounds. The event drew over 3,200 spectators at the Marshall Putnam fairgrounds as the Lincoln pageant and band concert opened the evening.

Rev H G Dusenberry Dies Retired Presbyterian Minister
Funeral services were held for the Rev H G Dusenberry 84 a retired Presbyterian minister at Green Funeral home. He died Aug 2 at his home after a lingering illness. He lived in Henry since 1918 and was survived by his widow Clara B two children Martha Myer and Paul B four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Pallbearers listed include J M Arnold Frank Clifft and others. Born Sept 17 1866 in Cincinnati Ohio he served churches across Illinois before settling in Henry.
