Henry Meister Victim Of Satur Night Hold Up
Henry Meister, of this city, was robbed late Saturday night on Front Street. A man stepped from a shrub, displayed a revolver, and forced Meister to hand over his wallet containing about 50 to 60 dollars. The robber fled, possibly meeting a confederate in an automobile. no trace found. Meister could not give a clear description but judged the assailant to be young and nervous, suggesting a new hand at holdups.

Varna Night Watchman Fells to Bandit Gun Duel
William Morris a 60 year old Varna night watchman was killed during a confrontation with bandits at the Marshall Putnam Oil tanks. Investigators found his revolver fired and rifles at the scene as they pursue unknown killers who escaped toward an unspecified route.
