Galesburg's Colored Giants, hailed as one of the state's best aggregations, lost to the Henry Greys 7 to 3 Thursday. Mackey pitched well for the locals, limiting opponents to three hits as seven runs came on seven hits and three visitor errors. A drizzle and threatening weather kept many fans away.
Sunday the Keewanee American Legion team visited and drew a large crowd. The Giants won 7 to 4 despite tour errors by the Col ored Giants. Stoner led with three base hits and Mackey fanned seven.
Mrs Anna Marie Warnke of Toluca died on July 19. Daughter of Jacob Kronz and Christine Kronz she married Michael Warnke in 1868 at Henry. She leaves three daughters Mrs John Pairan Henry Miss Mary Warnke Minonk and Miss Emma at home and three sisters.
A large gathering last night enjoyed the Community Orchestra performing fine music. Notable players include Rose Reinbeck piano and Louis Kraus clarinet with a quartet led by Wm. Williams and George Harney providing vocal solos. Ice cream and cake were served by the W R C o ladies, with church groups to serve on successive Wednesdays.
Elizabeth Kenyon born in Philadelphia June 28 1864 grew up in Henryill taught school in several towns then married Dr S O Hendrick in 1891. After his death she moved south later married Frank P Toole of Aiken South Carolina and died at University Hospital Augusta Georgia in July. Burial followed at Henry cemetery with services at Presbyterian church conducted by Rev H G Dusenberry. The remains were shipped from Augusta to Henry for burial.
Mrs Bennett from Peoria assists Mr Keenan as Mrs James Keenan helps care for him. Rainfall of 3.10 inches reported by H Haines. Phillip Thomas heads to Kansas City for the National Specialty Salesmen convention, plans to work locally upon return. Hazel Schwarz stays through August with Miss Clara Socatch visiting. Carlson and Ertle drive to Chicago for the Graphic Arts Exhibit and Pageant of Progress opening. Mrs Calvin Toomey and son Robert visit for P Brokine’s appendicitis operation. Mrs W W Brokaw learns her nephew Garth Runnells ill with typhoid in Colorado. he and his wife honeymooned at a state park then he fell ill and moved to Dr Runnells in Graely.
John Ira Thompson, longtime Lacon businessman and former mayor, died at his home after nearly two years of illness from a throat infection following influenza. He founded Thompson Farm Loans and served as mayor multiple terms. survived by wife Fanny, two children, a sister, and a grandchild. Funeral held at his home with Rev. Calhoun and Rev. Thompson officiating.
Rev. Paul L. Corbin and sister Miss Alice travel to Geneva Wisconsin for a missionary education conference. Dr A A Knapp and daughter Mary of Peoria visit Henry Presbyterian Church before heading to Minnesota. John Roberts of Magnolia goes to Chicago for a bone specialist as his leg fails to knit. Fred Thompson of Fort Atkinson returns home with nieces Isabel and Dorothy Feaster. Mrs Jessie Griffith Mrs John Murray Mrs Belle Merritt and Dorothy Englewood visit. Farmers urge motorists to extinguish roadside fires after meals as field fires spread across Illinois countryside.
George W. Cowan of Lacon died Thursday in Peoria after a June auto accident near Mossville that also injured Joseph Devault. Cowan, era journalist and banker, left a wife Leah Wier and two sons, Robert Fort and George Lindsay Cowan, and held roles in Lacon publishing and local government. Funeral services were held July 31 with Masons escorting to the cemetery.
Miss Lonie Neuhalsen daughter of Peter visits Milan Minnesota extended with aunt Mrs Mary Jacobs and family. Crops good warm weather. Dr Bayne Palo Alto California reports trip enjoyable though they feel Illinois is good. They plan home via Portland Seattle Spokane Yellowstone Park Minneapolis. Mr and Mrs Wm Repine and Ruth of Tiskilwa drove down from Undercliff visiting camp then Mrs Repine stays with daughter Mrs James Kirkpatrick.
Elmer F. Hunter of Hunter Lumber Company of Chillicothe died at his home at 2 o clock Wednesday morning from a stroke. He helped build a chain of about 25 retail lumber companies in Illinois. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 30 p.m. at his Chillicothe home. flowers omitted.
The M. E. Church announces Sunday school at 9 45 a m next Sunday and a Thursday evening prayer meeting on the topic Faith.

The notice lists St John s Church events led by Rev Father Cooper for August 6 and 7 including Holy Communion at 7 30 p m on Saturday and 1 30 p m and 10 00 a m services on Sunday with a 9 30 a m Sunday School and a sermon.
The church banner says no vacation in Sunday school meeting every Sabbath at 9 45. Studies on the life of St Paul are current next to the life of Christ. No preaching services until further notice as the pastor Rev H G Dusenberry has left on vacation.
Mr and Mrs Clyde Miller of Pinckneyville Ill visit her brother John O Kelly at Lostant and meet old friends. B R Nichols and family plan a Lowell Indiana visit. Kathryn to return home. Henry house occupancy shifts include Fitzpatrick family from Chicago. Public parks prepare picnic tables for motorists and travelers as highway work continues.
A group of ladies gathered at W G Chesney residence for the Pro stam meeting. They offered many suggestions on assigned topics and adjourned to August 11 1921 with Mrs William Klein. The program includes Thrift Roll Call How I Have Economized and talks on The Housewife as a Business Woman and Value of Household Accounts with papers by Mrs Lillie Boyle and Mrs Nellie Bumgarner.
Judith Chesney Wilkins of Tiskilwa died July 30 1921 at age 52 years 4 months and 21 days after a life in Bureau County Illinois. She was born March 1869 in Milo Township and taught in Sheffield and Tiskilwa before marrying C L Wilkins in 1896. Surviving are her husband son Albert C Chesney brother William Chesney three nieces and three nephews. Funeral services were held at her home with Baptist and St Jude clergy and interment in Mount Bloom cemetery.
Frank H Weaver longtime Henry resident killed at Verdun September 25 1918 and later brought home for burial in Trenton New Jersey. Post 104 American Legion led military rites. survived by father William H Weaver sister Mrs Samuel Garland and brothers William and Alfred.
H. L. Brown attended the district agency conference of the Illinois v Mutual Casualty Company in Peoria. The event ended with a banquet at the Jefferson hotel on Saturday. Visitors stayed at the home of Mr and Mrs Wim Williams along with Mr and Mrs Laurence Mr and Mrs Irving Miss Mary Lamb and Little Dorothy Williams of Bloomington.
