Washburn Resident Passes Away After Hospital Stay
Oliver Optie Sherman, born September 7 1943 in Marshall County, was the fifth of 12 children. A 40 year Washburn resident, he worked as a mason and in Washburn grocery stores. He died July 23 after a week in St Francis Hospital Peoria. Memorial services were held at the Sherman home with burial in the Baptist cemetery. Rev E D Hamner officiated.
