Green River shooting range killed by county board
Henderson County commissioners voted unanimously to kill the proposed Green River firing range, blocking a $10,000 earnest-money land purchase for a training center for sheriffs deputies and rescue personnel. The plan faced strong local opposition over land use, noise, water quality and wildlife, while the board pledged to pursue a different site with funding from a separate $3.4 million Bent Creek land sale.
