The Flat Rock Playhouse opened 2016 season sales with strong patron input and broad marketing driving a $35,000 record on opening day. Marketing director Dane Whitlock cited long phone holds and lines outside the box office as signs of high demand. Artistic director Lisa K. Bryant plans a varied lineup including The Music Man and The Diary of Anne Frank, with a reworked discount plan to attract more subscribers.
