Henderson County homeowner charged in toddler shooting death
Henderson County sheriff investigators charged James Fuller Stepp 31 with involuntary manslaughter in the accidental shooting that killed a 2 year old girl Monday. Stepp surrendered on a $5000 bond after deputies consulted with the district attorney. The 911 call described the shotgun blast that struck the child in the neck while her mother Heather Stepp was at home with three other children. The child died at Mission Hospital in Asheville.
