Chester A Chat Jones an eighth generation Henderson County native and Jones Auto Sales owner died at 63 after carbon monoxide exposure at his Asheville Highway garage He spent decades helping children with programs for diapers car seats and special needs sports and chaired or started multiple civic efforts His passion for local history led to Main Street tours and photo exhibits co founded with Tom Orr Jones kept receipts of service without seeking credit and his Kiwanis peers called him a doer.
