Fire at Sixth Avenue Apartments prompts multi‑agency response
Captain Bruce Simonds and officer evacuations saved residents in a three‑alarm blaze that damaged a brick and frame building on Sixth Avenue. Firefighters from Blue Ridge, Mountain Home, Valley Hill and Henderson County EMS battled the flames with ladder trucks, evacuating occupants and retrieving two pets. No injuries reported, investigators probe the center second floor as cause. Red Cross assisting residents.
