Gold Star Mom Joins HonorAir Flight For Fallen Son
Anne Adkins, mother of Army Cpl. Matthew T. Bolar killed in Baghdad on May 4, 2007, will join the Blue Ridge Honor Flight. The Flat Rock resident accepts the invitation from HonorAir founder Jeff Miller after attending fundraisers for veterans groups. Bolar, 24, served with the 25th Infantry Division and died near his unit during combat in Baghdad. Bush invited the family to the White House a week later to meet the president. Adkins later left her job to devote herself to veterans charities and historic preservation efforts.
