Hendersonville healer known as Doc Lampley helps woodpecker recover
In Hendersonville, 92 year old Dr. William "Doc" Lampley, wheelchaired yet sharp, calms a stunned red bellied woodpecker with what neighbors call his magic hands. The bird, living in the dining room window, recovered after about 20 minutes on his care, then flew away to the yard’s bird feeder scene that surrounds his home since 1953.
