DAR marks century of history and charity in Hendersonville
In 1916 fourteen Hendersonville women formed a Joseph McDowell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, tracing lineage to Revolutionary War soldiers. The centennial celebration at Hendersonville Country Club recalled founder Joseph McDowell, his service in Rutherford County battles, and the chapter’s long projects including Henderson County’s 1938 centennial.
