Henderson County budget may raise property tax up to 3 cents
After a daylong workshop, Henderson County commissioners consider a 3 cent property tax hike to cover a $5 million budget request package. Major drivers include a $1.4 million school increase, $1.2 million for land purchase debt, $966,900 for jail roof, $651,936 for EMS, and a 3 percent across the board raise, with decisions due by July 1.
